The Hard Places Issue €29.50
While art itself is highly enjoyable, being an artist can be very challenging.
Therefore, instead of solely celebrating our artists' successes, this issue aims to highlight the journey behind their achievements—offering practical advice, lessons learned, and valuable insights into their daily lives. We shed light on the hardships they've faced, how they dealt with common experiences such as rejection, fear of failure, criticism, loneliness, creative blocks, and making life work financially.
Amongst others, Tom Broughton opens up about how skint he was before his spectacle company Cubitts finally took off, Vladimir Kornéev recounts the time he was tricked by an abusive manager, and Lauren Baker admits she suffered from burnout. But it is by overcoming these hardships that our artists are where they are today.
Ultimately, success is not achieved overnight. It requires perseverance and embracing failure. You have to trust that nothing is over and everything is just the beginning. You must have the audacity to believe that you deserve your biggest dreams and move with the confidence that there is a road that leads to glory. You have to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is where our latest issue comes to the rescue, offering practical advice, shared lessons learned, and valuable insights into the daily lives and struggles of fellow artists.
Spoiler Alert: In Issue Nº 1, we also take you on an inspirational road trip along the Côte d'Azur and Costa del Fiori, with a stop in Florence, before finally concluding our travels in Venice. We bring you 'The Real Venice' from an insider's perspective.
